REPORTER INTERVIEW QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

An interview for a reporter position can include a universe of questions, from "Why did you decide to become a reporter?" to "What do you think about current journalism?" so make sure you have checked every aspect of your CV and perhaps gone through an Informational Interview in order to succeed in an interview.

List awards or prizes you have received in the past and mention your goals and accomplishments, skills that make you different from other reporters.

How do you handle deadlines?
For you deadlines are something really serious, you do not play around with them, you are very organized and know how to prioritize at all times. Mention situations from the past when reaching the deadline seemed really difficult and how you were able to make it on time.

What are your regular resources?
Make a list of resources that you use before going to the interview.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
A usual tricky question; as in any other job interview, interviewers would like to know how long candidates expect to keep the position so be honest about this question and let them know if you expect to be with them in five years.

Do you have any questions?
This is the perfect chance to make a good impression on the interviewer. Let them know how interested you are in the position by asking the right questions. Make a list of questions before the interview. Also use this chance to add any piece of information you think the interviewer would value.

Do some research on the organization you are applying for and make a list of things you consider particularly interesting about it. Mention how you feel your skills could help the organization goals.
