The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) results of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE)are likely to be declared today, after the ICSE board declared the results of HSC and SSC which fuelled as much as 13,30,000 students who appeared in the higher secondary certificate examinations this year.
According to reliable sources in the State Education department, this year the work of checking the answer- sheets is more rapid as compared to earlier years. As a result of the numerous changes in the overall functioning of the exam system, the initial lax administration has undergone a makeover, with the introduction of anti-copying campaign being the first step in that direction, said sources.
Further, authorities in the State Education department are striving hard to declare results well in advance, as examiners have been working round the clock scrutinizing papers in a least possible time, sources added.
The HSC results are expected at 1:00 pm today and can be checked on the official website of HSC on http://mahresult.nic.in, when published. The results of SSC where around 16 lakh students appeared in the board examinations this year would be declared on June 17 as per the information received from the trusted sources.
Meanwhile, the number of general seats to be made available for admissions this year is lesser than the seats reserved under the various quotas. The decline has caused because of maximum seats allotted to the in- house, minority and management quota seats.
